The coordinating manager of the Pacte Industrial of the Barcelona Metropolitan Region, Carles Rivera, participated in the 2nd edition of Àgora Pimes, the convention on micro, small and medium enterprises in Penedès and the Garraf organised by ADEPG, which took place in Vilafranca del Penedès on 3 June. Rivera introduced the Pacte Industrial to all of the attendees and presented the association’s latest publication, Quadern 12, within the framework of a round table discussion about innovation.
“The challenge presented by innovation” was the title of the round table discussion where a debate on innovation and its importance for the economic growth of the region took place. In addition to Carles Rivera, Cristina Fabián, an ACCIÓ delegate for Alt Penedès and el Garraf, Susanna Sánchez, from the UPC Centre for Innovation and Technology, Eusebi Graners, the president of Qualiteasy Internet Solucions, and Jordi Cuyàs, the head of Economic Promotion at Vilafranca del Penedès council, who acted as moderator, also took part.
Carles Rivera also made reference to the recent publication of the 12th Industrial Pact Dossier, Technological Innovation in the RMB: Location and Technology of European Patents. The aim of the study is to classify and map innovative technological activity registered within the Barcelona Metropolitan Region, using European patents as an indicator, with the aim of contributing to an enhancement of the design of public policies to support innovation.
